The latest in the Harry Potter series is "Order of the Phoenix", in which the now-teenage wizard has more than a few challenges in a dark world of magic. The movie is doing very well at the box-office, making $91 million in the first three days. And the fun is just beginning. Although the critics are harsher this time on his performance and the lack of depth in the script, people say the movie is not bad at all, for an epic fantasy flick. I'll probably make a review about it later on, although I'm way past the target age of the movie. But someone's gotta do it.
An online magazine managed to get Daniel Radcliffe to talk about some changes in his latest Harry Potter incarnation. As the series is progressing towards an impeding doom, Harry begins to feel the thrills of the age, especially for the character Cho Chang played by Katie Leung.
After he starred naked in a controversial theater play about a young man and a horse (you do the math), and after he made a shocking statement about him getting laid by using his fame (but NOT allowing girls to call him Harry - hypocritical, isn't it?), Daniel tells a few words about his newest flick. After he complained about the pressure of the director and the increased acting skills needed for such an epic journey, Daniel is happy by his overall performance and the way the movie turned out. Contrary to the critics (of course), the young actor claims this is the best incarnation of J.K. Rowling's books so far, as it is darker, more complex and with a lot of back story that ties a few loose ends. If that's an expert's opinion coming from a seventeen year old, I would advise him NOT to go see some of the more recent horror flicks if he finds Harry Potter so dark and brooding, as he might sustain serious traumas from all the blood and gore. Now, THAT's what I call dark!
Daniel also confesses that his first kiss on the set with Katie Leung was a bit awkward as they've been good friends for such a long time, but it wasn't such a big deal for him as it was for his character. I can hardly wait a few years from now on and see all the scandals these two will cause, as Daniel already has a knack for getting into trouble, probably inherited from his role.
