Finally some good news from the “Star Wars: Episode VII” film set (actually from the hospital), where news agencies report that actor Harrison Ford has successfully undergone ankle surgery after last week he suffered an accident while shooting a scene.

The Mirror claims that the 71-year-old actor has received the required medical treatment and is now recuperating at a rehab facility, where he's expected to remain for at least eight more weeks or until his injury completely heals.

Initial reports from the Pinewood Studios in England, where shooting is taking place, confirmed that Harrison was badly hurt when a door fell on his ankle and broke it. Rumors at the time also mentioned that Ford might have also broken his pelvis in the incident, something that could have put him out of action for far longer.

Ford had returned on set to reprise his role of Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise and his accident worried fans. They believed it would delay filming or, worst case scenario, leave him unable to continue shooting.

The production team has assured the media that it has already begun filming scenes that don't involve Ford so as to minimize the impact of his injury on the film schedule, and that there will be no delay from the release date announced for later next year.

And if that wasn't enough, the film crew was prepared to take drastic actions and only shoot Harrison from the waist up in all of the scenes he had left. Fortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
