Video game developer Harmonix has filled a new trademark and a logo for a new project called Chroma, which might be a new intellectual property that uses combat mechanics.

A job listing associated with the Harmonix game states: “Harmonix seeks a Combat Designer to create real-time, single-player combat experiences for a brand new IP on next-generation hardware. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute creatively to the studio and work on a project that is unlike anything Harmonix has ever done before.”

It seems that the upcoming game will be played in real time but the company has not offered any clear details on exactly what characters might be included or the story that players will get.

Harmonix is best known for their work on music simulation titles like Rock Band and on the Kinect-powered Dance Central.

An official announcement linked to Chroma and its exact nature might be made before the end of 2012.
