Gizmag has found out about the new addition on Suunto's portfolio. The company is known in the industry as an xtreme sports instrument specialist. They have recently added the Suunto Core to its cool range of outdoor wristop PCs.

The Core device was soon labeled as the "total timepiece for the hardcore outdoor enthusiast" the new ABC (altimeter, barometer, and compass).
The newly released wristop includes some great features such as a storm alarm, barometer, altimeter, weather trend indicator and digital compass as well as a newly added depth meter, digital thermometer, sunrise and sunset timer and a menu available in four languages.

Integrated in the system, the Suunto Core altimeter is accurate to 10,000 meters and displays current elevation as well as elevation gained and lost and records sessions for review. Besides that, the pressure gauge operates in four distinct modes, including an automatic setting, capable of sensing your movements.

The barometer can measure and record the air pressure and displays a graphic weather trend and also has the ability of predicting incoming weather further enhanced by the in-built Storm Alarm (particularly useful for hikers and climbers) that's activated by a rapid drop in air pressure over a three-hour period.

The built-in compass features both a rotating bezel for traditional use and one-touch function that allows the user to sight, lock and follow a bearing. If used underwater, the buttons remain usable and the device provides depth measurement to 30 ft (10m) with water resistance continuing to a depth of 30 m/100 ft.

The daily functions include dual time, date, alarm, sports chronograph and predicted times for sunrise and sunset.

Regarding its pricing and availability details, the Suunto Core comes in a range of face colors including yellow, black, orange, green. It was made using 100% stainless steel and various wristband options in different colors and materials. The Suunto Core is said to retail for about 350 bucks a piece!

The Suunto Core wristwatch for me is the best watch I ever had, is accurate, resistance is peaty good. Happy to make this purchase, only problem at the beginning was trying to programing the compass, other than that the battery is my big concern, don’t last what I expected.
