Policemen in the Washington D.C. area have some explaining to do after wrecking two pleasure boats during a failed U-turn.

As you can see in the video attached to this news blog, a Washington D.C. Harbor Police boat smashes into two docked boats.

One of the boats has sunk after the accident, WUSA9 reports. The incident took place at the Washington Harbor in Georgetown Saturday night.

“No pun intended, but immediately my heart sank,” describes Shawn Kuykendall since the boat the policeman hit, which sank as a result the damage, had been borrowed from a friend.

The driver of the police boat, which had its sirens on, lost control of the vessel and crashed into the docked boats. Fortunately, nobody was on them at the time and no injuries were reported.
