Steam for Linux is today celebrating one year of existence, as Valve launched the service on November 6, 2012.

Rumors about the launch of Steam of the Linux platforms have been piling up from a few months before, and everything culminated with the release of the first Beta versions.

A year later, Steam for Linux is a very busy marketplace, with 370 confirmed and working games, and a lot other that are being ported as we speak.

In this one-year interval, Valve also announced its own operating system based on Linux, SteamOS, and a new line of PC / console hybrids called Steam Machines.

Even the Co-Founder and President of Valve, Gabe Newell, has said that Linux is definitely the future and the company will try to make that future happen.

With all these in mind, we wish Steam for Linux a Happy Birthday!
