Hannah Montana Plays the "Teasing Lesbian Fantasy" Game

I have a feeling the people at the Disney Channel are in fore some pretty tough days. In fact, now that I think retrospectively, I think they did actually have a pretty tough year and yes, it's been proving pretty hard for them to keep their young, fiery leading ladies in check and stop them from effectively killing their own careers. As a gentle reminder - just think back to the huge scandal involving the High School Musical hottie Vanessa Hudgens and her naked photos that ended up getting leaked on the Internet a couple of months ago. Well, that might have been a bad omen for the conservative home of Mickey Mouse, since it would seem that more of their young sensations have decided to let their hormones run free and allow themselves to fool around in a not-so-very-Disney-friendly way.

The latest victim of the "look at me, I'm pretending to be a lesbian" teenage crisis is none other than the "Hannah Montana" singing sensation Miley Cyrus – who, like many others out there, was a bad, bad girl this Christmas. Anyway, these photos were "leaked" on MySpace and ever since that happened (which was yesterday) I've been hearing people left and right commenting about them. I personally find them just a tiny bit edgy – in the sense that yes, Miley looks like she's just fooling around, but she also seems to be forgetting that she can't afford to "fool around" in that slightly risque manner without raising some eyebrows. You see, as we all know, the game changes when you're faking some (harmless or not) lesbian kinkiness and you're a world-famous superstar in the making – no less, signed off to a channel that is very proud of its wholesome, conservative, squeaky-clean image.

So, I'm afraid this is a hit-and-miss for Miley and her friend, especially at a moment when young stars her age (just think of Jamie Lynn Spears) seem to be making rather controversial choices. And yes, I know it's a long way to go from teenage pregnancy to just fooling around in some mildly naughty photos, but on the other hand, maybe the leap from "good girl" to "pregnant or naked girl" is easier to make these days. Just ask Vanessa Hudgens, who's probably thanking her lucky stars she wasn't dropped by Disney when naked photos of her hit the Internet back in October. My advice? A little less kinky in front of the camera, and careful with the "friends". You can pretty much get your freak on in any way imaginable – as long as no one else knows about it. Discretion is closer to godliness these days...
