On March 11, well-known rapper 50 Cent will headline a concert that’s going to be broadcasted live via a mobile tool called Hang w/.

Hang w/, a cross-platform live streaming mobile tool is no stranger to 50 Cent, who is actually one of the investors behind the project. However, it’s not too often that the rapper chooses to make such an obvious display of his association.

The concert will take place on the cross over night between South by Southwest’s Interactive week and Music week. Thanks to 50 Cent, his appearance will be shared online via the live streaming social media app, Hang w/, hoping to boost the app while also delivering a really cool present to fans everywhere.

“I’m going to bring my fans behind the scenes and give the opportunity to those who couldn’t make it a chance to experience a concert at South by Southwest,” the rapper said about the event.

Basically, concert attendees will broadcast the show to their friends, colleagues and social media connections from all over the globe.

The company’s chiefs are quite hopeful about the concert. “This is going to be a pivotal event in Hang w/ history,” said Andrew Maltin, co-founder and CEO of Hang With, Inc.

“Hang w/ has shown itself to be a powerful technology platform for musicians to engage their fans, and we are thrilled at the opportunity to showcase our platform in front of the who’s who of music and tech, courtesy of 50 Cent who himself lives at the intersection of music and tech,” Maltin said.

“We are thrilled to be headlining South by Southwest Interactive crossover night with our partner 50 Cent and bridge the gap for artists and fans for a one of a kind experience all over the world,” said Dave Swartz, co-founder and Hang With, Inc. president.

Users of the app will be receiving push notifications when the broadcast goes live. As a reminder, the event is scheduled to take place on March 11, at 8 PM.

Hang w/ allows users to hang with each other live video and also chat simultaneously. The platform uses a “follow” system that allows people to keep track of people they’re interested in, such as friends and family. A notification is sent to the users when one individual from the user’s following network comes online.

Streams can be shared to other social media outlets, including Facebook.

The app managed to reach 1,000,000 downloads some nine months after launch, and it continues growing as more and more people seek alternative messaging tools and new ways to share their lives with friends and family members.
