The developers have made quite a few changes

HandyLinux, a Linux distribution based on Debian and Xfce that comes with a special kind of launcher and desktop interface, has been upgraded to version 1.8.0. The developers have made a large number of improvements and that is quite obvious from the big changelog, although many of them are not very complex.

It's difficult cu innovate on the Linux desktop today and the distro makers don't really have any new solutions to implement, but there are exceptions. For example, Deepin Linux is able to provide a desktop that is very different from everything else and HandyLinux managed to take Xfce and modify it in such a manner that it's difficult to recognize it.

HandyLinux is not your average distribution and even if the desktop might give off a certain Windows vibe (probably from the theme used), it's very different from the OS made by Microsoft and it's quite different even from its Linux brethren.

HandyLinux 1.8.0 is a big update

One of the things that have been changed by the developers is the main theme used in the operating system. It no longer resembles the one in Windows 8.1, which can be considered a great plus.

The developers have said that they have fixed the VLC integration, the Iceweasel browser has been upgraded to version 35, the HandyMenu has been upgraded, the Skype sources have been removed from the installation, the TeamViewer sources have been removed, some cursor themes have been added, the pulseaudio package has been added in order to ensure the compatibility with some of the applications, and various updates from Debian upstream have been integrated.

You can find more details about this Linux distribution in the release notes, but they are written in French. Don't fret, the system has English support. You can also download HandyLinux 1.8.0 right now from Softpedia.
