HandyGames, a famous independent mobile games publisher based in Germany, has recently announced having signed a deal with Sony Ericsson in order to become one of the two official providers of content for SE's Play Now arena and its Fun & Download service.

This comes after GlobalFun, the well-known Swedish developer, unveiled that it is the first official partner for Sony Ericsson's mobile gaming plans.

Both HandyGames and GlobalFun will come up with many games from their portfolios as well as with a lot of mobile content from other "external suppliers".

Talking about the new agreement with the Swedish-Japanese handset manufacturer, Christopher Kassulke, Chief Executive Officer at HandyGames, said, "We are very pleased about the confidence placed in our company and we are looking forward to a successful cooperation with Sony Ericsson. Due to our long lasting strategy 'Quality instead of Quantity', we will succeed in presenting to our customers a high-value portfolio with games for mobile phones and applications".

Udo Bausewein, HandyGames' CFO, continued, "For our partners, a quick reporting and punctual payments are essential for a successful cooperation. With this approach we will create a foundation of trust for the future and so we will convince many new partners of our publishing and controlling departments' competence".

HandyGames currently has a comprehensive range of mobile games, including the following titles: Panzer Tactics, Townsmen, Gothic 3 - The Beginning, Bridge Bloxx, My Model Train, Flitzer, Aces of the Luftwaffe, Park or Die, Dynamite Fishing, The Egyptians, Army of Heroes, The Great Olympiad Quiz, Soccer Puzzle, Beershooter and Funky Monkey in Funky Monkeyland.

We can't say yet whether all of these games will be available for Sony Ericsson mobile users, but it is clear that the Swedish-Japanese company is getting ready to offer a whole new range of content, via the upcoming Play Now arena and the already functional Play & Download service.
