Sony has just launched its latest tablet on the grounds here at IFA 2014, in the form of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

The slate is one of the smallest in Sony’s portfolio and arrives with an 8-inch full HD TRILUMINOS display and a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor under the hood, fitted with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD).

Following Sony’s tradition, this tablet is also quite thin and light, not to mention water proof. The device is just 6.4mm / 0.25 inches in profiles and breaks the scale at 270 g / 0.5 lbs, making it incredibly portable.

The slate has a back cover made of plastic, but the edges are made of aluminum, so the overall result looks quite nifty.

A lot of customers might enjoy the fact that you can easily hold the tablet in one hand, and if you have large enough pockets, it will fit in there too.

But the tablet’s most important feature is that it offers integrated PlayStation support. That means that you can now connect the slate with your console and play the night away with the help of the DualShock 4 controller and Remote Play feat.

Sadly, we couldn't test out this feat at IFA, but take a look at our hands-on photos anyhow, in order to get an idea of how the tablet looks and feels.
