Hands-On: Samsung Galaxy S5 Is Dust and Waterproof, Includes Heartbeat Monitor on the Back
The smartphone will go on sale in 150 countries on April 11
It’s only been several hours since Samsung unveiled its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, and lots of fans of the South Korean brand are a bit disappointed by the fact that the device is only a slight improvement over the previous models. However, unlike Galaxy S4, the upcoming model comes with a much better 2800 mAh battery and an impressive 16-megapixel rear-facing camera that can record 4K videos at 30fps.
It also features a more powerful 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.
According to reports, the 16GB version will only offer half of it as free storage, so a microSD card becomes a necessity. Speaking of which, the Galaxy S5 supports microSD cards up to 128GB.
Other highlights of the Galaxy S5 include: fingerprint scanner, heartbeat monitor, dust and waterproof certification, and 5.1-inch Super AMOLED full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display.
