Laptops and tablets usually steal the spotlight wherever they turn up, but All-in-Ones can prove to be quite useful, especially for families sharing a single device or a team working in a same business environment.

Lenovo knows that, so it has just unveiled two new tabletop models, in the form of the Horizon 2s and 2e. Compared to previous models in the family, the new Horizon offsprings bring about two new modes of use, dubbed Flat and Stand mode.

What’s the difference between the 2s and 2e? Well, it appears the “s” is there to highlight the AIO’s slimness (0.59 inch / 15 mm thick). The device is quite low on weight too, breaking the scale at 5lbs / 2.2kg, which means users will be able to move the Horizon more easily from room to room.

Moving on to the Horizon 2e, this model comes with a 21.5-inch full HD display and can be considered the base model.

Both AIOs take advantage on Intel Core Haswell processors, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (which is optional on the 2e model), Dolby Home Theatre Stereo speakers.

If you’re accustomed to using an AIO, you probably know they don’t last long. Bearing this in mind, we’ll tell you the 2s model has the ability to run 2.5 hours, while the 2e can take you as far as 3 hours.

Anyway, both models take advantage of Lenovo’s Aura multi-users interface which allows two or more people to safely share the same machine. Personal photos, videos and music will be stored independently and can be accessed only by the owners.

On top of that, Aura has been optimized for Android so users can pair their smartphones, tablets and other gadgets and stream content on the PC’s big display.

As we previously told you, the two machines bring about two extra modes of use. So with the new Horizons we can actually get the massive tablet experience – just lay the AIO flat on the table and you’ll be getting a massive 21.5-inch slate with Windows 8.1 plastered on top.

The machines are quite versatile and can be positioned as a monitor by virtue of a little embedded stand. Albeit being quite huge, we noticed the whole machinery is quite light and can be handled by using only one arm.

Lenovo has bundled the two devices with 40 multi-user games and educational programs that come pre-installed, just for your pleasure.

The Horizon 2s model is expected to start selling later this month and sell for $949 / €722 while the 2e will be up for grabs next month for $749 / €570, which is quite a honorable price if you ask us.
