LG is hoping to stir costumers away from the Moto 360 with the new model

You probably know by now that LG is attempting to distract customers' attention from the smartwatch extraordinaire, the Moto 360.

The tech giant has announced the LG G Watch R round smartwatch a few days ahead of IFA 2014 and now the company is putting it on display in Berlin for the whole world to see.

The watch is said to be the very first to arrive with a circular Plastic OLED (or P-OLED) display that utilizes 100% of the watch’s face and you can see for yourself in the gallery how that translates into real life.

Something LG is betting on with this watch is its premium feel. The intelligent timepiece should ship out with an interchangeable 22mm calf skin leather strap, which should bring about some style in your life.

This is an important improvement from what the original LG G Watch offers in terms of design, as this particular product comes with a plastic body and rubber band.

However, we still believe there’s room for improvement in the design department. For some reason, the strap doesn't look stylish enough and we’d have to say the ASUS ZenWatch appeals to us more, even if bringing to the table the highly hyped circular display.

LG has added a round band around the display to help you tell the time in an analog fashion, but we think the watch would have looked better without it. Anyway, take a look at the images and draw your own conclusions.
