The Witcher games have amazed so far millions of role-playing game fans from around the world. Polish developer CD Projekt Red has managed to adapt the popular novels from its native country and make protagonist Geralt of Rivia a beloved video game character.

Now, the studio is working hard on the end of Geralt's adventures – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – which concludes his story in a massive way.

The game had already been eagerly anticipated by lots of veteran fans, and after some really impressive gameplay demonstrations made at different gaming conventions, newcomers were also getting excited about the major title.

At Gamescom 2014, developer CD Projekt Red has brought forth a brand new hands-off demonstration of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, showing off a fresh event from the sprawling story of the open-world role-playing game.

The adventure picks up after a massive fight with a griffin and sees Geralt explore, for a bit, one of the main cities from the game's open world. The Polish developer has emphasized that such large settlements have a life of their own and that, through their actions, players can have an impact on these cities and towns. For example, depending on what missions are completed, Geralt can get access to contraband items from the local fish market.

After a deal with a shady character, Geralt goes off on his quest to find the mysterious ashen-haired girl who's already been introduced by recent videos as an important character. Geralt, as you can imagine, wants to learn more and reaches a pretty eerie swamp-like area.

In order to learn information, he meets a small boy-like creature that, in order to relay that info, must first be helped, as he lost his voice due to a flock of harpies. After quickly dispatching of the flying creatures and showing off Geralt's brand new crossbow weapon that's handy in dealing long-range damage, the game awards him with the voice.

The small boy leads Geralt to a group of woodland witches that, as you can imagine, also have an errand that needs doing and task the protagonist with completing it. Here is where once again Geralt must use his Witcher senses to track down a mysterious evil that's corrupted an ancient tree.

What's more, the end resolution offers two different paths to take, with both having consequences on Geralt's adventures and the people that still love in the swampy zone.

Overall, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks really, really good. The open world is huge and filled with all sorts of goodies to find and baddies to kill. Geralt is more powerful than ever, and it seems like CD Projekt Red have tried to make the best Witcher game possible.

Even so, it's still in development as there are quite a few frame drops, texture and object pop-in, and other such problems. However, until February 2015, when the game comes out, the Polish studio has plenty of time to polish it.
