In the beginning of the ongoing year, the Handcase announced the launch of a new mobile search system, dubbed Gune, which was recently made available for Android too. According to the company, the service comes as some sort of a system of meta-search, providing users with a single page of results. The system searches other sites and offers results from them, while optimizing these results for the small screen of mobile phones.

Handcase, a Brazilian provider of software solutions for mobile phones, also announced that Gune has been developed to consult two websites, namely Google and Bing. Unlike other similar meta-search websites available around the Internet, Gune has been developed to deliver only mobile search results, offering ten results from each of the search engines mentioned above. Handcase's Gune solution can be accessed via a browser here.

“The goal here was to optimize the time of the User and aims to provide a superior experience with search,” Ricardo Garay, CEO Handcase commented on the features of Gune. “Gune is designed so that everyone could contribute to the directory, so who have, or know a website mobile, just visit the website for the PC and give your tip. Once checked and approved it goes to the directory,” Garay continues.

Handcase has put in place special solutions for various mobile operating systems out there, as well as for various device types available on the market. The latest solution released comes towards the users of devices powered by Google's Android operating system. For the time being, Gune is available only in English, but the company says that it should soon arrive in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian too.

The company has made available a series of versions for its Gune launcher, so as to offer a wider range of mobile phone users the possibility to access and benefit from its service. Users interested in the solution should head over to this page on Softpedia to find the Gune launcher flavor that best suits the device they own.
