Bookeen's Cybook is already well known in the industry as being around longer than most e-book readers available on the market.
After the release of the STAReBOOK reader in November last year, Bookeen Cybook is preparing another item which is expected to have at least the same major success they previously had. The new Cybook boasts a 6 inch E ink display with an impressive
800 x 600 resolution and four shades of gray. It weighs a relatively lightweight of 185 grams and it is called "the book that never ends".
Just imagine how nice it would be to buy the whole Shakespeare collection, carefully stored in a single device.
According to MobileRead, the latest rumor is that the Cybook will also support Open eBook, PDF, HTML and RTF, as well as Mobipocket document file formats. But the music addicts have all the reasons to add this item on the shopping list, since it can also read MP3 audio files and other file formats available on the market today.
It seems that we won't have to wait too much longer to buy this remarkable e-reader, as it is apparently set to launch in the US and Europe later this summer for about $350. Not a bad price after all, given the capacities.
Bookeen claims that its new Cybook features the size of a paperback, the thickness of a magazine and a weight of a standard mobile phone, not to mention the fact that the new reading device will give the user the experience of reading from ordinary paper. Not bad at all.
But, don't forget: there are several important factors in choosing the best e-book reader. Of course, the price is first on the list, not only for the reader, but also for the downloaded book.
Then, the size and the ergonomic shape are important as they'll practically tell you how exactly you're going to hold your reader. Not to mention the clarity, the readability and the machine's ability to handle different fonts and symbols.
Personally, I want a large screen and long lasting reading session without draining batteries. But that's just me!
