Elevated landform on Mercury looks very much like the Star Wars hero

Every once in a while, NASA decides to entertain ordinary folks by releasing odd and quite funny pictures showing what the surface of other planets looks like.

Earlier this week, the space explorers shared with us this picture of an elevated landform on Mercury, and pointed out the fact that, at a closer glance, the landform very much resembles Star Wars hero Han Solo at the time when he was frozen in carbonite.

“If there are two things you should remember, it's not to cross a Hutt, and that Mercury's surface can throw up all kinds of surprises.”

“In this image, a portion of the terrain surrounding the northern margin of the Caloris basin hosts an elevated block in the shape of a certain carbonite-encased smuggler who can make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs,” NASA says.

The picture was taken back in July 2011 by a spacecraft orbiting this planet.
