Halo Wars is quite the surprise. It is a real time strategy title shipped exclusively for the Xbox 360 gaming console from Microsoft. It is based on the popular Halo franchise that has only featured shooters until now. It managed to sell no less than 1 million units pretty quickly, making it a success. Unfortunately, it was the last game developed by Ensemble Studios, also responsible for the Age of Empires series.

Despite most people saying that the game was pretty well balanced, the successor company, Robot, which is handling the support for Halo Wars, is saying that it is getting ready to release a title update (which is just a fancy console term for “patch”) for the videogame.

The patch is set to fix all the issues that players have been experiencing with match making, especially the fact that those of different skills were put in a match together, while also addressing problems with the balance of units. Robot has stated that “The Patch was developed around fan feedback, so hopefully players will be happy.”

The first clear information related to the title update is that the Prophet of Regret, one of the leaders of the Covenant side, has had his speed reduced to be equal to that of the other leaders. So, no more rush tactics for players using him. Also, the Flaming Warthog and the Honor Guard Wraith are set to become available for all multiplayer matches. There's no mention of the rumor that the Flood will be made playable for multiplayer at some point.

Of course, the patch will be meatier than that and Robot is set to post more information regarding the title update for Halo Wars on the official site of the game. Unfortunately, there's no release date announced for it but it will probably be out before the end of April.
