Microsoft has just announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has gone gold, ready for the Xbox One launch in November.

For those of you not in the know, when a game goes gold it means that all development-related activities have been completed and that it's ready to start mass production.

"This is a massive milestone for the team and also means that the game will be available for Pre-Order and Pre-Download later today. I couldn't be more excited to start having fans grab this game online so everyone can hit the ground running on release day! The team has been working incredibly hard to make this happen, so we're all eager for you to play this labor of love," the official announcement reads.

Developer 343 Industries has also announced that the game will be released on November 11 in most parts of the world, with some countries getting it a little later due to various constraints. This is a significant move up from the original release date of November 14 for Europe, but unfortunately Belgium will have to wait until November 12 and France until November 14.

The biggest Halo experience so far

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a compilation of all four Halo games released so far, remastered in HD and running at 60 frames per second, with every multiplayer map ever released for each game, including DLC from PC and consoles.

"From the start, our philosophy has been to give Halo fans the best possible experience and not compromise the quality or features of the collection," the announcement reads.

This means that the game will take up a lot of space, with the developer stating that the entirety of a single Blu-Ray disc will be used, meaning 45 GB of data. Furthermore, the developer will also release a content update at launch, clocking in at around 20 GB.

In order to make the process bearable, players will be able to start the Campaign mode as the content is installing, with some non-crucial features and multiplayer content being added via the day one update.

"Yes, the update is large, but we weren't about to cut corners to save disc space. This ensures that you are getting every bit of Halo goodness we can fit in. Our work is not done, however, as we continue to tune, tweak and optimize the online experience to ensure a smooth multiplayer launch. This will continue right up until launch day," the developer assures.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available exclusively on the Xbox One computer entertainment system from Microsoft starting November 11.
