Good news for iOS users, as Microsoft has decided to bring Halo: Spartan Assault to Apple's mobile platform. The game has been initially released on Windows Phone back in August 2013, which means the iOS version arrives almost two years later.

This is rather strange since last week Microsoft announced another game in the Halo series, which is now available on Windows Phone and iOS.

The new game is called Halo: Spartan Strike and continues the story in the previous title mentioned earlier.

For the time being, Microsoft does not seem to have any plan to bring the Halo series to Android devices, so the only way to play them would be to switch to iOS or Windows Phone.

Microsoft launches two Halo games on iOS platform in just one week

So, almost two years after the game's release on Windows Phone platform, Halo: Spartan Assault makes the jump to iOS. This might have something to do with the fact that Microsoft also launched another Halo game on iOS last week, as mentioned earlier.

Halo: Spartan Assault is a top-down shooter game that contains 30 action-packed levels during a solo campaign. The events in the game are set before the ones of Halo 4.

There are plenty of things to do in the game from earning achievements, complete weekly challenges for XP, and to competing against friends in leaderboards.

In the game, players will be given command of favorite Halo weapons, vehicles and armor abilities, as well as the possibility to create the perfect Spartan warrior through customization.

If you don't have the game installed yet, then you can now download Halo: Spartan Assault for iOS for $7.49 via App Store.

Keep in mind that the game is fully compatible with all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices powered by iOS 8.0 and up.
