Publisher Tor Books has announced that the upcoming Halo: Silentium novel, which was originally slated for launch in January of next year will now only be available in March 2013.

Those who want to get the latest installment in the Halo series of books will be able to then get a physical copy, an e-book or an audio version.

The most recent cycle of Halo books is written by Greg Bear and is a prequel which tackles the story of the Forerunners.

The two books launched until now, called Cryptum and Primordium, tell the story of how the mighty ancient civilization lost its way and came close to its doom.

The Forerunners are the main enemies in the new Halo 4 video games, with the first one in the series being developed by 343 Industries.

The title will focus on the adventures of Master Chief on a new planet where he will have to deal with the new race and with the consequences of the USNC – Covenant war.
