Microsoft is one of the biggest companies involved in gaming at the moment, owning a lot of high grossing franchises with a big number of fans all around the world. The software giant is also quite proud of its Xbox 360 console, which has generated a lot of money and is still making a bit more than its arch rival, the PlayStation 3.

One of the most important franchises for both Microsoft and its Xbox 360 console is Halo, which was originally developed by Bungie and purchased by the large corporation. It went on to produce a few award-winning video games for the platform and the company is bent on developing it for other types of media.

That is why there are multiple projects underway, including a Halo movie, which reputed film makers Peter Jackson and Neil Blompkamp were working on. That project was terminated though, but, according to recent rumors, another famous Hollywood director, Steven Spielberg, will take the helm of the Halo movie and deliver a great experience.

Not so, says a Microsoft spokesperson who was asked by gaming blog Kotaku about the possibility of Spielberg working on a new Halo movie. “We're glad there's still a lot of enthusiasm in the entertainment industry surrounding the idea of a Halo movie. That said, the Halo feature film remains on hold as we focus on projects like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach.”

When further questioned, the spokesperson revealed that the company had “nothing further to share with respect to plans regarding a Halo movie.” Whether or not this means that the team working on it needs silence or the company considers that it isn't the right time to invest big money in such a movie is still anybody's guess.

Hopefully though, we will find out, when the time is right, details about such a project and the dream of many people to see Master Chief on the silver screen will come true.

I say since all the adults are having trouble with the ideas and how to make the plot get a kid to do it. I think they should have Stuart Beattie direct and have a child help him it may inspire his creative mind.
