The Kinect support in the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition isn't present on the game's disc, as the developers at 343 Industries have opted to deploy them through a day-one update tomorrow, November 15, when the game will be released.

Halo: Anniversary is one of the last big Xbox 360 exclusive releases of this year, and, seeing as how it brings a high definition remastered edition of the first Halo title, Microsoft, its publisher, wanted to really showcase all the features of the actual console as well as its Kinect sensor.

We already know some of the features that are going to be included for the Kinect, with things like a special Analyze mode that will store information about objects in the exclusive in-game Library section, as well as support for menu navigation or switching between the Classic and the Remastered visuals by saying certain words.

Sadly, it seems that these Kinect features won't be included right on the game disc, instead being delivered through a day-one update for Halo: Anniversary, mostly because the development team at 343 Industries wanted to fine-tune them after the game went gold and was sent to manufacturing.

"The Kinect features in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary are something we have been working on for some time," a spokesperson told Kotaku. "As we wanted to ensure it was a great experience, we chose not to rush things for the retail release and instead focus on a quality update timed for launch day. Because the Kinect features require users have access to Xbox Live, it's not something we could advertise on the box as shipping with the game."

As such, Halo: Anniversary players will need to connect their console to the Internet when the game will be released, November 15, in North America, and November 18, in Europe, to download this update and enjoy the Kinect features in the game.
