Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary edition, like most of the new games from Microsoft, will have support for the Kinect motion sensor and has just seen the first details about this functionality revealed, largely by mistake, at last week's TGS 2011.

Halo: Anniversary is set to be one of the few big Xbox 360 exclusive releases of the end of the year, so Microsoft wants to make sure it will attract all of its current customers by providing a rich and impressive experience based on the original Halo: Combat Evolved.

In order to do this, the new title, besides remastered visuals and the ability to change up between the original game and the improved one on the fly, is also going to have support for the Kinect motion and voice sensor from Microsoft.

At TGS 2011, after revealing some new details about the game's multiplayer maps, Microsoft started showcasing live demonstrations of the title, but quickly had to divulge some information about the Kinect functionality in Halo Anniversary.

"We accidentally revealed some of it because someone kept saying one of the keywords during another demonstration. So there will be some basic voice support -- for example you can switch between the two graphics modes with voice commands by saying 'Classic' or 'Remastered,’” said 343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor to 1UP.

There are plenty of other options that will make use of the Kinect, but O'Connor said they'll all be revealed as we get closer to the game's official release date in November.

"There is some other functionality that we haven't talked about that is not core to the gameplay per se, but it is germane to the story and fiction fans will probably really enjoy that feature -- and it's a little bit more advanced than just voice functionality."

"We'll talk about it later, sometime in October probably, but we don't want to oversell it. It's not something that radically changes the gameplay; it's just another additive bonus on top of the other stuff we've added. We think of it like the 3D: something that makes the experience better, but doesn't change it."

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary edition is out exclusively for the Xbox 360 on November 15.
