Halo 5, the next iteration in the series coming to Xbox One in the future, might feature an open world and is quite ambitious, at least according to a new report that's surfaced online.

One of Microsoft's big announcements at E3 2013 last year was the confirmation that a new Halo game is coming to the Xbox One. Since then, developer 343 Industries has remained quiet and Microsoft itself is skirting around the project, declining to offer any details or share its plans for the future of the series.

Thankfully, industry insider Thuway has revealed on Twitter a couple of really interesting facts about Halo 5 on the Xbox One.

Apparently, it's quite different from the previous games in the series and will be "more or less open world."

He has also confirmed that the whole game is ambitious, although he didn't say through what exact aspects.

A few more details about 343 Industries' Halo game have appeared in recent weeks thanks to job listings, confirming new multiplayer game types as well as the fact that the online mode uses the power of the Microsoft Azure cloud.

You can expect Microsoft to make some big announcements at E3 2014 next month or maybe even before then.
