14 DAY TRIAL // Statements from actor Mike Colter have already revealed that his character from the live-action Nightfall will play an important role in the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, but it seems that he will actually become a new generation Spartan and will fight alongside Master Chief.
So far, the details have not been confirmed by the developers at 343 Industries or by publisher Microsoft.
Talking to IGN, Colter says, "When he goes into Halo 5, you'll see him transition into a Spartan, a super soldier. It's a prominent role within the game. Obviously Master Chief will be involved, Cortana, but Locke will be one of the playable characters in Halo 5."
He also claims that there are parts for Agent Locke written into the rest of the trilogy which will start with Guardians.
Apparently, Colter has been spending a lot of time with the team at 343 Industries that is doing motion capture and has tried to make sure that players will be able to discern a lot of emotion and nuance from his acting, even if the equipment makes it hard to act in a traditional way.
Halo: Nightfall was launched in 2014, but it seems that there are no more plans to introduce cinematic content based on the series in the coming years, especially after Microsoft disbanded the studio which worked on such initiatives.
Halo 5: Guardians needs to revitalize the series
The Master Chief Collection was supposed to re-introduce the series for a new audience on the Xbox One, but the game had a lot of problems when it was launched and that means the community is now worried about Guardians and the state it will arrive in.
The game currently has no launch date, but it is expected to be introduced at some point in November.
Halo 5: Guardians received a big multiplayer beta earlier in 2015 and now 343 Industries is using the data gathered to refine the mechanics, with a big set of changes for the weapons and the newly introduced Spartan abilities.
343 Industries has said that the story of the new title will focus on a big new threat that Master Chief needs to face and it seems that he will do it all with the help of Agent Locke.
