A possible release date for Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One has just appeared online, in the form of November 10, 2015, but two different employees of developer 343 Industries are already stepping forward to deny it.

The Halo franchise has been around for quite some time and is synonymous with the Xbox brand, after being developed by Bungie and ultimately acquired by Microsoft itself.

For quite a few years, developer 343 Industries has been in charge of the franchise's fate, and the studio has already rolled out Halo 4 for the Xbox 360 and it’s getting ready to debut Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One.

However, the biggest upcoming project from the developer is without a doubt Halo 5: Guardians, the all-new installment in the series that's set to debut for the Xbox One sometime in 2015.

A few details have already been shared during this current year, and a special beta stage is set to take place right at the end of it, in December, for owners of The Master Chief Collection.

A possible release date leaks via an internal countdown clock

While it's pretty obvious that Halo 5 is going to launch sometime during the fall season of next year, a more specific release date has surfaced online via a photo taken by one of the newest 343 Industries employees.

As you can see above, it shows two colleagues in the 343 building, and in the back, what seems to be a countdown clock. According to the speculation seen on Reddit, 382 might be the number of days left until the game releases, or at least is ready for release. Doing the math shows that Halo 5: Guardians might roll out on November 10, 2015.

The date is a Tuesday, a traditional day of big video game releases in North America, so it makes at least a bit of sense.

343 Industries is denying the situation

Unlike many reports that elicit just a simple "no comment" statement from Microsoft or 343, this new one has caused a few employees to publicly deny it.

First up, on NeoGAF, 343 Industries Community Coordinator Tashi claims that the clock is a remnant in the building and shows different random times.

"lol that, 'clock' reads different numbers every day. I don't think anyone actually knows what it's for," he explains.

343's David Ellis also confirms on Twitter that the Halo 5 team isn't even in that building, so there's no use for that clock.

"I'm not even sure who uses that clock anymore, considering the Halo 5 team isn't in that building," he says.

As of yet, it's unclear if the actual release date for Halo 5: Guardians has leaked, but it's safe to say that the new shooter is going to debut at some point during fall of 2015.
