14 DAY TRIAL // The Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta listing on Xbox Live which mentioned that the trial could appear on other platforms at a later point in time is an error, Microsoft confirms, so don't expect to see it launch on the PC in the future.
Halo 5: Guardians is Microsoft's biggest Xbox One exclusive of next year, as tens of millions of people are eagerly awaiting the next-generation first-person shooter experience. As of right now, however, many are awaiting the debut of the multiplayer beta stage, which is set to kick off on the Xbox One later today.
However, some users have spotted a listing for the online trial on the Xbox Live service that includes some really peculiar wording.
More specifically, as you can see in the screenshot above, via Reddit, the listing mentions that the beta is a "limited time exclusive" and that it "may be available later on other platforms." This wording immediately sparked speculation amongst the many Halo fans, which ultimately concluded that Microsoft could bring Halo 5: Guardians to the PC, especially since big announcements are expected from the corporation on that front next month.

Now, however, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg confirms on Twitter that the listing is just a language error and was just meant to emphasize that the beta is going to be available for a limited time.
"We are fixing that language, it was simply meant to imply the beta is for a limited time. Sorry for any confusion," he tells a fan.
Microsoft's next big operating system, Windows 10, is expected to be available across all of its devices, from the PC to smartphones, tablets, and the Xbox One. It's also been rumored for quite some time that, with this move, Microsoft might allow owners of other devices to play Xbox One games via a cloud service that uses the power of its Azure infrastructure.
As of right now, however, Microsoft has only mentioned that it will make a PC gaming-focused announcement at a conference in January 2015.
