The Hunt the Truth promotional campaign for Halo 5: Guardians is continuing to deliver new audio diaries for fans to explore as they try to piece together the story of the new Master Chief-focused video game, which will be launched in the fall.

The new clip posted on the official site talks about the way the Office of Naval Intelligence is covering up info about the sources that might offer details about the past of Master Chief and is using actors to fool protagonist Benjamin Giraud.

ONI is emerging as the villain of the story told by Hunt the Truth, and the audio diary also talks about the price that has been paid so that humanity can take out the threat posed by the Covenant.

The production values for the promotional content are once again high, and even for those who have no information about the Halo universe, the clip manages to deliver some cool moments and hooks.

Halo 5: Guardians is the biggest Xbox One launch of the year

The Hunt the Truth campaign is important because it represents the main way that fans of the Halo series can get an inkling about the narrative of the coming title.

The development team at 343 Industries has delivered two live-action trailers for Halo 5: Guardians, which seem to indicate that players will get to experience the same set of events from two perspectives, that of Master Chief and that of Agent Locke.

The official cover for the title also shows some new Spartans that will be important to the story.

A new Hunt the Signal ARG focused on smartphone users is designed to allow gamers to get access to more details, including ways in which the Mjolnir battle armor can be taken out by enemies of Master Chief.

The multiplayer side of Halo 5: Guardians is designed to introduce a range of new ideas to the series, including entirely new capabilities for the Spartans that each player can create and tweak.

Most of them were shown to the public at the start of 2015 and the feedback delivered by the players will be used to improve the core feature set.

Halo 5: Guardians will be out exclusively on the Xbox One and can be played starting October 27.
