The development team at 343 Industries says that its next Monday update for Halo 4 is set to introduce a new game mode called Hivemind while also giving players access to four new maps that were created by the community using Forge tools.

The new mode is described as, "a Flood game type in which a player did not feel disadvantaged for spawning as either Flood or human; a balance between the two was crucial."

The first concept that the team introduced was a two-hit kill for Flood players and then, 343 Industries and its community partners decided to also remove all Armor Abilities and make the MA5D Assault Rifle the default for human players.

The new maps are: Payload, Drillsite, Temple and Repression.

More details about the changes coming to Halo 4's multiplayer mode can be found on the official 343 Industries site.
