Developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft have already revealed the November 6 launch date for Halo 4 and this means that the two companies are now delivering more information on the actual game modes for the upcoming shooter.

One of the biggest changes is the new Halo Infinity Multiplayer experience that will seek to use the same core concepts fans of the series are accustomed to while also surprising them with new modes and new options.

The Halo 4 multiplayer modes will all be connected to the UNSC Infinity, described as the largest starship in the United Nations Space Command fleet and the core of the carrier of any newly enrolled Spartan.

Here gamers will be able to create their own Spartan IV warrior from scratch and then evolve his abilities and power while also experiencing life on the most important space faring vessel in the Halo universe.

One of the new multiplayer game modes will be called Spartan Ops that the development team at 343 Industries says is “an episodic adventure that blends immersive storytelling, high-quality cinematics, and action-packed gameplay to deliver an unprecedented serialized experience.”

Cinematic episodes will be delivered on Xbox Live, telling the story of the Majestic Squad and the crew of the UNSC Infinity as they explore the new world and discover its mysteries.

Up to four players will be able to take part in the Spartan Ops in order to get access to both more narrative elements and extra rewards.

The competitive multiplayer mode for Halo 4 will be called War games and will also be linked to the UNSC Infinity, with gamers invited to visit the combat deck of the ship in order to join other Spartan IV in a new set game modes.

The development team at 343 Industries also promises “a vastly expanded suite of new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles, armour abilities, a new loadout and player progression system, and a new armour modification system that introduces gameplay-enhancing customisations for the first time in a “Halo” game.”

Halo 4 launches on November 6 exclusively on the Xbox 360.
