A new update from developer 343 Industries mentions that its upcoming shooter Halo 4 is close to being completed, with the team now focusing on eliminating all the bugs remaining in the game and on putting an extra layer of polish on the overall experience.

The testing and bug hunting stage is very important for a high-profile video game like Halo 4 because the legions of fans who will pick the game up on launch do not respond well to game stopping problems, either for the single or the multiplayer modes.

The Halo Waypoint update from 343 Industries also announces that the Forward unto Dawn live action Halo series is close to being completed, with shooting recently wrapped up in Vancouver and the team now working on editing the movie.

Forward unto Dawn will be launched during October and will allow fans of the universe to get more information about what Master Chief has been up to before the events of Halo 4.

More information on the live action series will be offered at the San Diego Comic Con.

343 Industries has also revealed that one of the multiplayer maps for the gamer will be called Longbow, which will be covered in snow and will be part of one of the new unannounced game modes.

Halo 4 is probably the last title in the series for the current generation of consoles, and it will allow gamers to once again take control of Master Chief and his A.I. companion Cortana as they face a new enemy after the Covenant threat has finally been eliminated.

The developers have promised that mystery and exploration will be core elements for the new Halo title.

Halo 4 is exclusive to the Xbox 360 home console from Microsoft and will be available all over the world on November 6, 2012.
