Microsoft is getting ready to deploy Halo 4 next month and has just confirmed the array of multiplayer content packs that will be released for it, as well as a special War Games Map Pass that basically acts as a season pass.

Halo 4 is one of the biggest games that will appear this fall and Microsoft is making sure that fans know about it and the array of content it’s going to release for the first-person shooter.

Now, the publisher, together with developer 343 Industries, have confirmed the different downloadable map packs that they’ll launch for the game after its initial release.

Besides the DLC, Microsoft is also offering a special War Games Map Pass, which basically acts like Season Passes for other games, offering access to the new content at a lower price, as well as two in-game helmets and a special emblem.

Check out the map packs and their estimated release periods below, via Major Nelson:

Crimson Map Pack (December release timeframe) Maps: Wreckage, Harvest, Shatter Description: Witness the chaos of a clash of civilizations in Wreckage, with its blend of claustrophobic spaces and dangerous exposures and venture into the human colony environs of Harvest, and explore a human foray on an alien moon in Shatter.

Majestic Map Pack (February release timeframe) Maps: Landfall, Monolith, Skyline Description: Landfall’s emphasis is on infantry battles against a glittering ocean on a distant world, while Monolith exposes you to the naked vacuum of space – and the firepower of opposing teams, and Skyline’s distinctly industrial feel provides new challenges in somewhat familiar, but occasionally confined spaces.

Castle Map Pack (April release timeframe) Maps: Daybreak, Outcast, Perdition Description: Daybreak is set in a military facility against the backdrop of an idyllic mountain range, while Outcast plunges you into the warrens, canyons and arches of an alien edifice, and Perdition takes players into the heart of an urban sprawl, with tactical speed and situational awareness its key features. The War Games Map Pass for Halo 4 will cost 2000 MS Points and is included in the special Halo 4 Limited Edition.
