Halo: The Master Chief Collection encountered a lot of different problems when it launched back in November of last year for the Xbox One console, as the multiplayer features and the matchmaking system didn't work as intended.
Eventually, after many different updates, developer 343 Industries managed to solve these problems and make it actually playable. In order to reward early adopters for their patience, the studio promised different compensation measures, such as a free month of Xbox Live Gold membership, not to mention a free remastered version of the Halo 3: ODST campaign and a classic map in the form of Relic, now renamed into Remnant.
The next update with Halo 3: ODST and Remnant is in certification
After seeing a release date leak online earlier this week, followed by a denial from 343 Industries, the studio now mentions on the official website that the major update, which includes Halo 3: ODST and Remnant, is in the certification process.
While exactly release timing isn't available just yet, it's a safe bet that the major content patch will debut next week.
In addition to these big additions, the update is also going to bring a new Find Player search that allows users to find the maps made by others, no matter if they're online or not.
According to 343, if a player wants to see the maps or game types made by another person in Halo: MCC right now, they need to be friends with them or be present on the campaign leaderboards.
With the new system, players will be much more easily findable and they won't have to be friends with those who made cool maps or game types.
