Brian Jarrard, Bungie community lead, hopes to be able to 'work with Peter Jackson on a new Halo game'

Some while ago (back in May to be precise), news about Halo 3 ending the trilogy and taking Master Chief with it were circulating on the Internet non-stop. However, a recent interview with Bungie's community lead, Brian Jarrard, reveals that Halo 3 may not be the last we'll be seeing of the series. In fact, he clearly stated that he and the team(s) behind the FPS are actually hoping to come up with another Halo game.

In the interview, Jarrard explains how Halo is just too big to let go just like that, and that they've always had an eye towards the future when developing the game's future downloadable content:

"We're just trying to prepare ourselves for the future and get positioned. As a studio we want to grow to a point where we're able to do more than just one game every three years. We're trying to experiment with smaller cell teams that are prototyping on potential new (intellectual property) and future projects. We know that we need to have some guys stay behind and be able to support Halo 3 after release, possibly doing some downloadable content in addition to being able to work with Peter Jackson on a new Halo game. We have a lot of irons in the fire right now, and in order to be able to multitask, we've just had to grow.", Via Seattlepi.com

Even Microsoft's Shane Kim stands by the fact that Halo isn't, under any circumstances, something to be left behind, but he did mention in an interview with the upper mentioned website that gamers should also expect non-Halo stuff too from Bungie:

"They've always said to me, 'Look we love Halo, obviously, but we have other stories we want to tell'." Naturally, after such a statement, Kim was pressed by the interviewers to reveal more about the possibility of a Halo prequel, but they couldn't get anything more out of him.

But honestly now, is there any doubt that Master Chief is only just becoming more popular with the launch of Halo 3? How do you let something like this go? Halo 4, or Halo whatever... is coming. That's a fact. Oh and, quote me if Bungie announces Halo Whatever, don't forget that.
