For all those who failed to pick up a disk-based version of Halo 3, the shooter that closed the saga of Master Chief for the moment, Microsoft is making things easy. The title will be arriving on Xbox Live Games on Demand on April 20 for all the regions where the service is active. The software giant is not talking about the pricing for the shooter but players can probably expect to pick it up for less than the launch tag.

The announcement has appeared on the blog of Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson, who is the director of Xbox Live programming for Microsoft. He is also saying that on April 13, North American gamers will be able to get Tomb Raider: Legend on Games on Demand, while Europe, Australia and New Zeeland will get access to Devil May Cry 4. On April 20, Europeans are also set to be able to buy and download the first Saints Row open world game.

When it comes to Xbox Live Deal of the Week preparations, April will be bringing the Crash Course downloadable content for Left 4 Dead for just 320 Microsoft Points on April 12 and the Zombie Island content for Borderlands for 400 Points on April 19. Xbox 360 users in Japan can also look forward to getting The Maw for just 400 Microsoft Points on April 12.

The move to put out Halo 3 on Games on Demand is an interesting one. Bungie is at the moment creating Halo: Reach, a new Spartan shooter set to come before the end of 2010. With rumors swirling around indicate this is the last game in the franchise the developer will be handling, the Redmond-based company is probably keen on using its back catalogue of Halo titles to get some more money from gamers. Expect last year's ODST to also appear on Games on Demand once the Reach beta stage kicks into gear.
