If things stay the same, it may very well become the most preordered videogame of all times

In an article I wrote some while ago, I said something about the Xbox 360 being a lucky console. It was solely because of Halo 3 and its highly anticipated launch in November. It appears that I was right, not that anybody else had thought about it, but I'm just glad I said it, that's all. OK, moving on now. As Xbox Evolved reports, some four million Halo 3 preorders have been registered, in North America alone, at Gamestop, EB Games and Funcoland stores, all under Gamestop's guidance.

If the site's calculations are correct, they might just be right about Halo 3 making a record in preorders. As Bungie's FPS has accumulated 4 million preorders to date, while there are 5 months and some change until it launches, it may very well be the case. And there's even more of a possibility if the Xbox 360 is indeed so lucky as to sell some units just for Halo 3.

Also, as a comparison, the site reports that Halo 3 preorders have beaten even the GTA IV ones at the chain of stores and that's both for the PS3 and 360. Is the Xbox 360 lucky or what?

While Microsoft is preparing something like a second launch for the Xbox 360 now that Halo 3 is just a few months away from release and while Nintendo's releasing new expectations for their Wii and DS as the fiscal year has proven fruitful, Sony lags way behind with absolutely no chance to get up by the end of this console wars. Microsoft's Xbox 360 is the favorite starting now. Let's see if Nintendo can roll something out to stay ahead.
