The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are keen to show fans of the Halo series the kind of upgrades they will get in the upcoming Master Chief Collection by delivering a full walkthrough for the Ascension map of the new Anniversary version of Halo 2.

The footage is designed to show fans how the older title looks when using High Definition graphics, and it also reveals some of the more subtle enhancements that have been made to the core gameplay.

As in the Anniversary edition of the original Halo, gamers will have the option to swap between the initial graphics and the updated ones at any point in order to see the clear difference between the two.

The new version of Halo 2 that will be part of the Master Chief Collection also has two separate multiplayer modes, a new one which only uses the six remastered maps, and the original one, which can be used with all the content originally launched for the title with improved graphics, but no gameplay changes.

The new Halo collection for the Xbox One will also come complete with a series of digital episodes that are designed to show the story of the game world leading up to the events that will be portrayed in the new Guardians title.
