Microsoft has confirmed that it's talked about creating a Halo 2 Anniversary Edition a few times, in the same vein as the Halo Anniversary Edition which came out in 2011, confirming that it has yet to rule out such a project.

Xbox 360 owners were able to experience an improved version of the classic Halo: Combat Evolved title back in 2011, 10 years after its original launch, in the form of a Halo Anniversary Edition.

Now, considering that in 2014 Halo 2 celebrates its 10th anniversary, Microsoft's Phil Spencer has revealed that discussions are taking place within the company.

"We have discussions about it. It’s more about the right time and making sure that we really would do the right thing for the franchise," he told IGN.

Microsoft, however, would encounter a pretty tough dilemma, as in 2014 a new Halo game for the Xbox One is also scheduled to appear, so Spencer didn't make any promises.
