Steve Downes, the man who voices Master Chief, the protagonist of the Halo series, has confirmed that Halo 2 Anniversary is going to appear this year, while Halo 5 will make its debut on the Xbox One in 2015.

The Halo series saw the launch of Halo 4 back in 2012, and last year it received the downloadable Halo: Spartan Assault experience.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has confirmed that a Halo 5 for the Xbox One is coming at some point in time, and recent rumors speculated that it would appear in 2015, while an HD remake of Halo 2 might debut this year.

Such a strategy has been confirmed by Steve Downes, who talked with GameZone about the future of the series.

"I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5," Downes said. "I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2."

As such, it's pretty much a certainty that Microsoft will bring Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 5 in the near future.
