The animal lives at the New England Aquarium, staff say it is rather spooky

A few days ago, the New England Aquarium got a new resident: a Halloween-themed lobster whose body is half-black, half-orange.

One could suspect that this means that, once measurements are taken, these colors are found to spread across 50% of its body surface each.

However, in the case of this marine creature it is clear right from the start that it is in fact half-black, half-orange. This is because its shell is evenly split in half, right down its middle.

Apparently, for each such weird-looking lobster there are 50-100 million normal-looking ones, so it is not difficult to guess that this specimen is pretty much one of a kind. Tree Hugger adds to the Halloween feeling surrounding this lobsters, and says that is was caught off the shores of Salem, Massachusetts, where several witch trials took place in the past.
