Halle Berry vs. Gabriel Aubry: The Custody War Just Got Nastier

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry split in April 2010, presumably on friendly terms. Last month, he filed legal papers for joint custody of their daughter Nahla, while the other day, Halle blasted him in the media as an unfit parent. It’s Aubry’s turn to respond now.

In a statement cited by People magazine, the model says that it’s unfortunate that Halle has chosen to portray him as the villain in the media but he will not be airing any dirty laundry because that would be in the detriment of the child.

As for Halle’s claims that he’s not a fit parent, understandable from her words that she’s “worried” about Nahla’s well-being whenever she’s with him for extended periods of time, it’s all a lie, Gabriel says.

“While Gabriel is disappointed in Halle’s decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes, he refuses to be pulled into her dispute over a canceled film production,” his rep says in a statement.

“Gabriel also refuses to air their issues in the press as he believes this may ultimately harm their daughter. The fact is that Gabriel is a caring father who shares custody of Nahla,” the statement further reads.

While publicly Aubry won’t be doing anything to discredit Halle, it’s exactly what he’s trying to do in court, a report on TMZ notes.

The custody battle has turned into a genuine he said – she said madness, with Aubry claiming Halle is never around her daughter and the Oscar-winning actress insisting the model is not a good father.

Moreover, Gabriel is set out to prove that Halle is a raging jealous woman who flips off without the least provocation, making his life a living hell and, presumably, pushing him to break it off with her.

“Sources tell us, while Gabriel was dating someone last year, he claims Halle would call, screaming and swearing at him in a jealous rage,” TMZ writes.

“Gabriel is claiming, when he went to London and South Africa with Halle and Nahla last August when she was shooting a movie, Halle would sometimes not return for days, when she was supposed to care for the toddler,” the e-zine further writes.

To get joint custody of the child, Aubry is also saying that Berry cares more about dating than about parenting these days.

She, in her turn, is saying Nahla is not safe around him.
