“X-Men” fans have plenty of reasons to rejoice, and not just because “Wolverine” effectively slashed away all competition at the box-office over the weekend. According to actress Halle Berry, if there’s a slight possibility a Storm spinoff gets picked up, then she’ll most likely be a part of it, HollywoodRag informs citing Wenn.
As “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” premiered over the weekend, several reporters turned their attention to other stars who also appeared in the original trilogy and, of course, Halle Berry was probably the first they sought out. When asked whether she would ever consider returning to the action superhero genre, Halle was as blunt as possible: she would, granted they wanted her and she could still fit in Storm’s leather outfit. “I think that would be great. Storm deserves her own movie – if I can still fit into the suit.” Halle Berry told the media recently, according to the aforementioned sources. Despite all this, and regardless of how happy fans would be just at the idea that a Storm spinoff was in the making, neither 20th Century Fox (which also did “Wolverine” and owns the rights to the franchise), nor other movie studio has yet expressed an intention to do so. However, several movie-oriented publications point out that since “Wolverine” fared so well at the US box-office despite the leak of the workprint at the beginning of April, it’s highly likely that talks of spinoff be resumed. Among the characters who might grace the silver screen again is, of course, Wolverine himself, as he seems to be the most popular with fans, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, of whom fans believe he was a bit “cheated” of more onscreen time, and Storm. Before getting their hopes too high, though, fans are urged to wait for at least some sort of confirmation from the movie studio on all this. Should Storm get her own spinoff, rest assured, you’ll find out about it here.

| Comment #1 by: Daniel Montgomery on 12 May 2009, 02:23 UTC | reply to this comment | It is my wildest of dreams to see a spin-off of Storm, and it's an honor to be the first to comment on the article recently read above. Anyway I am obliged at the idea that Storm Origins might (I say will) be in the making, because as Halle Berry says she deserves it and we do owe it to the "Mistress of the Elements". As the character is popular, but least recognized than others lately, is my most favorite, strongest, and most attractive character and so is the portrayer the most beautiful of all Marvel Universe. So, I can not wait and see what the future holds, just knowing what is yet to be done in Storm Origins and the hope of you all making the right decision is just worth my and hopefully the world's while. So, with all that said and done, I'll be looking forward the best Producers & Directors into actually bringing Storm' life... to life! |
| Comment #2 by: Daniel Montgomery on 13 May 2009, 02:27 UTC | reply to this comment | What will make this Movie more interesting than any other marvel movie is the "Plot" and that's sticking to the bio of the character "Ororo Munroe a.k.a Storm".Allow us to believe that Halle is the character by bringing back the features and recognition of Storm (White Hair, blue eyes, dark skin, and Kenyan accent),and give Stan Lee and Cockrum their props for making Storm. Halle Berry might not be dark skin, because she is our modern day Storm, and she is the only actress up for grabs and she seems to be more dedicated now than ever. She and the portrayed character deserves this personal screentime and I'll be the first one to know if it's in development (making). This will probably make more money than "Xmen Origins: Wolverine ", and my money is on Storm movie. This will bring Marvel Inc. back to the top depending on who directs and produce. My major point to this meaningful opinion is to allow 20th Century Fox consider this everyones wildest of dreams. The whole point of Storm being created and born (first appearance 1975) was to allow her to stand out from the crowd, and she was born with an attitude of a leader. Do not get me wrong she is an Xman, but before she became an Xman known as Storm, she was Ororo Munroe (and still is), we need to know and bring her to cinematics instead of just seeing her as animated. Halle Berry decided to do this not only to help her career get back on top (due to her daughter Nahla), but to make it up for, well, ruining Storm for us. I agree with those who hated Halle as Storm because she looked liked she was playing dress up, but that's the fault of the: make-up, no blue eye contacts, no kenyan accent, dreadful hair, and most of all no tiara, or original costumes. These are all of the things which made others have second opinions on Storm being their favorite Xmen Character. I, once again want this film to have time put into it like the other Marvel & DC films ("Superman Returns", "Watcmen", "Incredible Hulk" and Fantastic Four films to name a few). 20th Century Fox I know this can be made possible, it's just a matter of time. |
| Comment #3 by: Angel on 17 May 2009, 00:00 UTC | reply to this comment | Yes, I would like very much to see a FEMALE super hero have a movie. I see the guys all the time Spiderman, Wolverine, Hulk, Batman, Superman, etc. So Catwoman didn't fair well. That's because they didn't stay true to the character or (the suit). I say give Miss Berry another crack at it and she will bring in the dollars for those movie moguls. Maybe Nala could play Storm as a youngster when she grew up in Africa (but that would be many years down the road). Anyway, Yes to a female superhero please, please, PLEASE! |
| Comment #4 by: TM on 08 Aug 2009, 09:20 UTC | reply to this comment | I am sorry but I was soooo disappointed when I saw they chose Halle Berry as Storm. She is wayyyy to short (storm is suppoe to be TALL). Halle Berry's accent was terrible. I think they should have used somebody like Iman or maybe Naomi Campbell (if she can be a teamplayer). Tyra maybe even. Shoot I would have even took Ru Paul as a last resort. |

| Comment #6 by: dennis on 12 Sep 2009, 21:41 UTC | reply to this comment | I cannot tell you all just how many times i have signed those petitions and searched all over the web for even a hint of ideas involving a storm spin-off and now it's finally here!! I am so happy that they are finally (like the above article mentions) atleast thinking about it. I absolutely love STORM!! she is my favorite character and she always will be (magneto is second to her) And I just gotta say that I love Halle Berry's performance in the x-men films and I think that her portrayal was hampered and altered due to the writers and makers of the films e.i; the loss of the accent after X-1, no blue eyes (which can be explained by having Storm say that she simply wore contacts to conceal her true eye color!) things like that to try to receive the redemption and forgiveness of some of the angry fans (which i don't understand because i think it was great) (even though it could have been flawless) ALL HAIL THE WEATHER WITCH...............................!!!! THE WINDRIDER!!!! |

| Comment #9 by: dcp on 01 Aug 2011, 20:48 UTC | reply to this comment | Hallie Berry sucks as Storm. She was miscast. Her soft chracter doesnt fit Storm who is a strong leader. As aparent of a Black girl ,my daughter doesnt have any strong black chracters to look up too, why does storm have to be light skin if shes supposed to be from Africa, thats wack, and what message does it send to brown skin black girls, ..again ..wack |
