Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez became parents to a baby boy Maceo almost 5 months ago and, if you look at Halle today, you might not be able to say she was pregnant in the first place. She says her secret to shedding the weight was breastfeeding.

Maceo is the actress’ second child, as she has a 5-year-old girl Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. She’s been keeping busy professionally as well, with a new movie, “Frankie and Alice,” and a new television series, “Extant.”

She spoke to Extra the other day to promote these two new projects and, as expected, the topic of the pregnancy and the pregnancy weight did come up. Video of the interview is available at this link.

“I just feel great because I have another baby. I never thought that at my stage in life another baby – and a baby boy – was coming to me, so yeah, I'm blessed,” the actress says, literally beaming.

As for the pregnancy weight, which she appears to have lost completely, Halle says she did the natural way, “Every mother should breastfeed. It's the quickest way to shed the initial weight and then you have to eat right, to be careful about what you put in your mouth.”

Of course, as fans must know, Halle didn’t gain too much weight during the pregnancy, so it’s probably safe to assume that she’s always been very disciplined about her diet and workout routine. She was even more so after Maceo was born.

Nahla loves playing big sister to her 5-month-old brother, Berry also reveals. “It's like one of her doll babies came alive. She gets to take care of him, feed him, change his diapers, play with him, dress him up in different clothes like five times a day because she can, so she loves it,” she explains.

Nahla also accompanies Maceo and their mother on set because, the Oscar-winner clarifies, working in television isn’t easier than working in films is, despite what people might tell you. Still. Halle doesn’t come across as anything but very grateful: grateful to be working still and, more importantly, grateful that she gets to pick projects that mean something to her. So she’s not complaining about the schedule.

“Frankie and Alice,” a movie of which she says she “badly” wanted to see happen, opens in select theaters this Friday, but it was actually completed some years ago. It also stars Stellan Skarsgard. Halle will also be seen in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” this May.
