Mac users now get Oculus Rift support, new localizations

Valve has released a beta update for Half-Life 2 fans on Steam, adding Oculus Rift support and new languages for Mac gamers.

Valve makes the release official, stating, “We have released a Beta update for Half-Life 2 and associated games.”

The update adds Oculus Rift (virtual reality) support for Mac OS X, as well as support for Italian, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese localizations in both Half-Life 2 and Episode 1.

Half-Life 2 requires Mac OS X version 10.5.8 (Leopard) or Mac OS X version 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard), 1GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 8 graphics solution (or higher), or ATI X1600, a mouse, a keyboard, and an Internet connection (for online activation of the game).
