Football fans worldwide are anxiously waiting for the transfer of Croatian player Luka Modric to Real Madrid. Before anything official was announced, the player’s profile mysteriously appeared on the club’s official website.

Sources from the club rushed to appoint hackers as being the ones responsible for publishing the webpage that featured Modric, El Economista reports.

However, some experts have questioned these accusations, highlighting the fact that Real Madrid has one of the most secure websites in Spain. This is necessary because the site is not only visited by many users, but it’s also the target of many cyberattacks.

On the other hand, there’s another, more plausible version. The club’s representatives may have prepared the webpage for when the transfer becomes official, but accidentally posted it online before the announcement was made.
