Last Friday, a number of New South Wales state emergency service websites were hacked by a Turkish hacker as a form of protest against the now-infamous Innocence of Muslims video.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the hacktivist defaced the subdomains operated by regions such as Orange, Shoalhaven, Ryde, Randwick, Wollongong, Sydney Southern, Hurstville, Guyra, Gosford, Corindi, Armidale, Tamworth, Kogarah and others.

“How can you even think talking about our Prophet Muhammad?? ... We will never let you humiliate and tease the Muslims,” read the protest message posted on the sites.

The one responsible for the breach, SLYHACKER, threatened the United States, France, Israel, and “all Muslim enemies” that their actions would “never be forgotten.”

A State Emergency Service representative told the Sydney Morning Herald that an investigation was launched. However, the affected sites are on a different server than the one hosting the main website.
