Pakistani hackers of TeaM MaDLeeTs are behind the attack

Hackers of the Pakistani group TeaM MaDLeeTs have breached the systems of the organization responsible for the registration of Montenegro (.me) domain names (domain.me).

As a result of the hack, a total of around 3,500 domain names have been hijacked and redirected to a defacement page.

At the time of writing, Domain.ME appears to have restored the impacted domains, which included nic.me and domain.me. The attackers have made available mirrors of the defacements.

They say the 3,500 domains they have “defaced” are parked on the breached server.

The domain registrar hasn’t made any statement regarding the cyberattack. I’m trying to get in touch with the organization to see if they care to comment on the incident. This post will be updated in case I get ahold of them.

It's worth noting that .me domains are highly popular these days.
