VPN representatives deny that the site has been breached

Hackers led by HcJ claim to have defaced the official website of OpenVPN (openvpn.net), a California-based company that developed the popular virtual private network (VPN) application.

While a Zone-H mirror shows that openvpn.net was defaced, OpenVPN representatives state that their website hasn't been breached.

"We have not been hacked or compromised in any way. Not sure why these guys are claiming to have hacked us but at this point it is untrue," said a company representative.

The hackers didn’t reveal the reasons for which the site was targeted, the only message posted on the defacement page being “No News Is a Good News,” along with a “quote of the day” that read:

Don’t be lammer, Leave your computer and enjoy your summer.

Update. The article has been updated with the statement from OpenVPN and with the clarification of the fact that the mirror actually shows a defacement for openvpn.net, not openvpn.com, as we have initially written.

Update2. OpenVPN representatives have highlighted the fact that no sensitive information is stored on their servers.
